Maya Nicholson is a current company member at The Ohio Shakespeare Theatre Company as well as The Magical Theatre Company where she has performed in modern and classical plays. In the last few years, she has directed some of her favorite productions including Ain't Misbehavin', For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow is Enuf, Sister Act, and most recently Fences, which was unfortunately postponed due to Covid-19. She has taught in a myriad of educational outreach initiatives with The Magical Theatre Company, Cleveland Public Theatre, Cleveland Playhouse Theatre Company and independently introducing young artists to various theatre styles and disciplines all while empowering their voice and confidence on and off stage. The root of her work derives from her practice of Lessac Kinesensic work, which she studied formally at Kent State University. She truly enjoys voiceover work which has been highlighted throughout 2020. She has partnering with The Millennial Theatre Project as a playwright creating a community collective performance protest production, Say It Loud! that focuses on equality and inclusivity in Akron, Ohio. Maya is currently partnering with The Chameleon Village Project and Balch Street Theatre for her upcoming performance. She truly can't wait to see what's in store next, whether in the classroom, on set, or on stage.
News and Updates

Stay up to date on all the latest news about the productions, events, and community work I’m involved with by having a look at the articles below.
This December, back for a second production after a very successful run in 2021 (which ended too soon!), audiences now have another chance to enjoy this magical musical and phenomenal cast.
The timeless fairy tale is reborn with originality, charm, and elegance in this classic musical with a modern twist.
